I was diagnosed in Munich with a heart arithmia (Bradyrithmia) which is supposed to be present in people with low blood pressure, like atheletes. Anyway, this Doctor scared me because he said with certain conditions it could lead to a heart attack. My heart palpitations had increased over the past few months from "once in a while" to 20 times a day. Something was definately wrong.
I have learned quite a bit recently from Google and from my doctors about certain herbs and nutrients which when people have a deficincey, heart arrythmias can develop.
Heart arrhythmia
The Herbs that help control heart arrhythmias -
Alfalfa, borage seed, horsetail, nettle and pau d'arco are all rich in minerals necessary for proper regulation of heart rhythm.
Black cohosh, oat straw, passionflower, valerian root, skullcap, and wood betany are calming herbs that may help to regulate arrhythmias.
Nutrients which help to maintain a normal heart rhythm -
Potassium (99mg per day) is needed to maintain regular heart rhythm, and it also lowers cholesterol.
Calcium and magnesium are important for maintaining normal blood pressure and a normal heart rhythm. Hawthorn also has been shown to control "electrical outburst" from happening in the heart, which causes arrythmias as well.
I have been taking potasium, magnesium, and hawthorn daily for the past week. I also started drinking at least 4 large glasses of water a day. My abnormal palpitations have gone down to just a couple times a day, and today as I write this I have not had one yet. I am begining to think that I had a magnesium and potasium defficiency. I was working mids for a long time and not eating very good meals (mostly fast foods).
Well, mom had her psychic reading with Allison DuBois the other day. I worked with her husband Joe building Allison's new site and worked out a deal so that I could get mom a reading with her. It sounds like Allison nailed a lot of things going on, including Dad's knee surgery and some other things even about me. She told my mom to tell me not to get hooked on pain killers, and I laughed because I do kind of enjoy them... they get rid of the pain and make me feel good. I just had a spinal surgery, give me a break. I did stop drinking! One habit at a time! lol.
Allison's new website
When are you going to post a blog about it mom? We'd love to hear more.
Check out the site my partner Karna and I did for Allison, and let me know what you think. Karna did the Flash header and logo based on a static background I created. I worked with Allison's husband Joe on the project, and he was one of my favorite website design clients. He's an engineer, so he's quite a brite guy! www.allisondubois.com
This is a small family of geese me and my friend Dan (above) ran into at a big garden in Schwetzingen Germany. This guy let me pet him and play with him a bit, but when I started asking too many questions, he pushed me along by pulling at my socks! He probably got mad when Dan called him a duck! The lesson? Wear shoes when playing with geese, they have sharp little teeth. I look fat because I am wearing my back brace.
Salem had a spleenectomy (they removed it) There were a couple small lumps that are getting biopsied. I guess one of the lumps burst or something which made his red blood cell count go way down which made him very sick. Since it was removed he is fine. The Doc says that if the lumps are benign, he will live for years without any problems. If they were cancer, he said they were very small and we can control that as well. I am praying they are benign.
It was really a sad day when he had the operation. He told me he had a 50/50 chance of surviving the surgery and asked me if he should put him to sleep if once he got in there he found something really bad. Of course I said yes, because I wouldn;t want him to suffer on my account. So I was bracing for the worst. I left his office and sat by this beautiful enormous water fountain in Mannheim praying that he would be okay......I really don;t know what I would have done if he died. It was so close to losing Greta, I would have been a wreck for a while. It's been a very long 3 months for me. Thank god he's doing okay, I love that boy so much.
Endoscopic Disk Surgery Part 1. This is the intro by my surgeon Doctor Hoogland of the Alpha Spine Klinik in Munich, Germany. They are one of the few hospitals that does an endoscopic type disk surgery. The old way of doing things was dangerous and painful, not to mention it would have required a 2 week hospital stay after the operation. After the surgery below, I literally walked out of the hospital.
