Salem's close call with death |
|

Salem had a spleenectomy (they removed it) There were a couple small lumps that are getting biopsied. I guess one of the lumps burst or something which made his red blood cell count go way down which made him very sick. Since it was removed he is fine. The Doc says that if the lumps are benign, he will live for years without any problems. If they were cancer, he said they were very small and we can control that as well. I am praying they are benign.
It was really a sad day when he had the operation. He told me he had a 50/50 chance of surviving the surgery and asked me if he should put him to sleep if once he got in there he found something really bad. Of course I said yes, because I wouldn;t want him to suffer on my account. So I was bracing for the worst. I left his office and sat by this beautiful enormous water fountain in Mannheim praying that he would be okay......I really don;t know what I would have done if he died. It was so close to losing Greta, I would have been a wreck for a while. It's been a very long 3 months for me. Thank god he's doing okay, I love that boy so much.
